GGBA​ BEGINS ITS 5TH YEAR!

The Greater Germantown Business Association opened the doors to business members at the  Philadelphia Center for Arts and Technology  (PCAT) at 2111 Eastburn Avenue, Phila., PA. Our new fiscal year opened with guest speakers Addie Groslein of the Tookany/Tacony - Frankford Waterdshed Partnership, Inc.   GBA's President John Churchville, Ph.D., JD, and

Sloan Folks of G'Town Restoration CDC.



Addie presented the benefits of storm water management utilizing native plants and rain

gardens and trees to absorb storm water run off.  



John Churchville gave an overview of Estate Planning best practices for business owners

and professionals.  

Sloan Folks announced that his organization is in the process of selecting members for a

neighborhood Advisory Committee.









Flying Horse Center Hosts GGBA's November Meeting

Stan Smith's Flying Horse Center, located at 5534-46 Pulaski Avenue (near Chelten Avenue on Pulaski Avenue) hosted our November meeting in their beautiful Pegasus Conference Room.

The GGBA meeting focused on the Germantown Special Services District and Councilwoman Cindy Bass' plan to get it up and running again. 

Members of the GSSD Steering Committee, (Marcus van Heppinstall, Constance Swinson, Ingrid Shephard, Irv Ackelsberg, Stan Smith), along with key representatives from the Commerce Department, (Kevin Dow, Sylvie Gallier- Howard, and Rojer Kern) as well as the representative from the Councilwoman's office  (Robert Bembry) were on hand to talk about where the GSSD process is now and what is projected for its next steps. 



A question and answer period was provided afterward.
