G'Town Restoration Community Development Corporation
G'Town Restoration CDC is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization comprised of community building leaders who are willing to work together to provide information, skills, tools and technical assistance to residents, organizations, businesses, elected/appointed officials, funders and policy makers engaged in the efforts to improve the quality of life in Northwest Philadelphia.
Since its inception in 2005, G’Town Restoration CDC has provided food preparation certification job training to 210 community members and led commercial corridor revitalization along the community’s main spur of Germantown Avenue, having created the Chew/Chelten Business Association. G’Town Restoration CDC has engaged over 400 community members in community planning and served over 3,000 people Philadelphia-wide and an additional 2,500 people in the Northwest. G’Town Restoration CDC has led community greening initiatives, corridor/block cleaning activities, youth engagement projects and community education programs. G’Town Restoration CDC has provided environmental leadership training to more than 450 underserved community residents, on a city-wide basis. This neighborhood environmental training included water quality, storm water management, air and soil pollution, household hazardous waste issues and repurposing of brownfields.

(Partners Leveraging Accomplishments Now and Tomorrow) Partner. The P.L.A.N.T. Partner initiative is aligned with G’Town’s 2015 Strategic Plan. That plan is projected to expand our current work with the Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC) and move into areas such as: 1) engaging in housing counseling and energy assistance programs; 2) developing a youth leadership training project; 3) inaugurating a housing rehabilitation and development project; and 4) community planning to absorb nearly 4,000 ex-offenders returning to Germantown—all of whom will need both transitional housing and jobs.
